Windsor is a city in southwestern Ontario, Canada, located on the south bank of the Detroit River, directly across from Detroit, Michigan. It is the southernmost city in Canada and the western terminus of the Quebec City-Windsor Corridor, geographically situated within but administratively separate from Essex County. In Southwestern Ontario, the city ranks third in terms of population after London and Kitchener with a population of 229,660 in 2021. The largest trans-border conurbation in North America is the Detroit-Windsor metropolitan area, and the Ambassador Bridge is the busiest commercial border crossing between the United States and Canada.
